WELCOME TO THE ENGADIN IN ST. MORITZ

St. Moritz is an official training centre of Swiss Olympic. With 1'856 m above sea level, the place is at an ideal training altitude. Altitude training: many top athletes swear by it. Endurance athletes in particular appreciate the altitude of St. Moritz at 1,856 m above sea level. Those who train here benefit from the dry, stimulating alpine climate and ideal weather conditions with an average of 322 days of sunshine a year.

OUR STAY - 4 * HOTEL REINE VICTORIA :

The Hotel Reine Victoria is designed in the classic Art Nouveau style of the late 19th century. The hotel has spacious accommodation units decorated with elegant, traditional furniture and feature a flat-screen TV and a bath-room with a shower.

The Reine Victoria is directly opposite the Ovaverva sports centre with its indoor pool and spa, where you can enjoy free entry during the opening hours of the Ovaverva public pool. Parking is available at the hotel.

MEALS:

The price includes full board. Breakfast is buffet style in the beautiful antique breakfast room.

After breakfast we have our first training session and when we return, lunch is waiting for us at the partner hotel Laudinella, 150m away,  from where the rich dinner is also served. The kitchen offers delicious food, taking into account the needs of athletes, including vegetarians.

PERFECT WEATHER CONDITIONS:

The running track around the Lake St. Moritz is one of the routes that you should have taken as a runner. Because of the sun-drenched altitude of 1856 metres and the dry, clear air, not only summer guests but also numerous top athletes come here for altitude training.

And they often train on the beautifully situated 400-metre track in St. Moritz-Bad, only about 5 minutes' walk from our accommodation.

MOUNTAIN RAILWAYS:

Our offer also includes use of all mountain railways, as well as the local bus and train. We use the mountain railways to support our running trainings. Either you take us up to the middle station of Corviglia, where we run around the Lai Alv at 2'525m on a 1km long circuit or we take the Muottas Muragl cog-wheel train which takes us from 2'453m.a.s.l. back down to the valley after an ascent from Pontresina

BAD UND SPA - OVAVERVA:

Our offer also includes use of the indoor swimming pool including the relaxing spa area. The indoor pool is located directly opposite our hotel and invites you to actively relax after a strenuous day of training. In addition, our athletes receive a 40% discount on the admission price for fitness in the indoor pool.

OUR COACHES:

Grażyna Furrer-Syrek
A graduate of the Krakow Academy of Physical Education, a sports coach, Olympian from Athens in 2004, Multiple Polish champion in track and field distances from 5km to the marathon in the years 2002-2006 with a personal best in the marathon of 2:26:22, Route record holder of the oldest Polish marathon Dębno (2:32:09)

Tomasz Szymkowiak

Athlete, a coach of second sports athletics class, participant of the Olympic Games in Beijing (2008), 10-time Polish Champion at distances of 3000m with obstacles, 10000m, 4km and 12km (cross-country races), with personal best times: 8:01.39 (3000 m steeplechase), 13: 59.88 (5000 m) and 28:41 (10000 m).
